What ho? A ping!

Following hot on the heals of the toadstool post where I first talked about the new XML-RPC features and the lagging behind post where I first moaned about not having them. Logicfury the software my blog runs on now supports pingbacks.

Primarily I use the one ping to ping them all service Pingomatic to dish out my pings also coupled up with a few default ones just to be sure.

Isn't it great? There was a time when my blog was lagging behind in terms of all this new XML-RPC stuff (a fancy word for being able to post to my blog from various sources and perform a few other tricks). Now I can select one of my pictures from Flickr, hit the blog this button and here is where it all ends up, no messing about.

Ah yes, I almost forgot, enjoy the picture Cheeky

Just a quick post to note in my blog that Logicfury (the software that powers this blog) is back in development and a public release has just been made Smileing

It feels odd having sat back into the "developer chair" though I'm hugely optimistic about my new approach. This time will be different and you can hold me to that Winking Before my approach was make a complete system with everything I wanted it in, forums, gallery and so on and so on (I really have a lot of ideas Cheeky) and then release it. Which created so much work it wasn't really fun any more. Now the approach is release what you have, when you have it and add those features over time and hopefully over time people will come on board to help out.

Check out http://logicfury.org for more information Cool

AllofMP3.com is hands down the best source to download music from, having such a vast collection in the format/quality of your choice (Mines OGG q5) with no DRM means I have never spent so much money on music before and now have a very large collection of music and an even more varied taste in music.

AllofMP3 even produce a nice app for you to interface with their music store and add files to a queue which this app will download for you, great! If your using Linux however you can try and emulate this app under Wine/Crossover Office (a pain even if it works) or use a download manager and add all the files by one to many clicks for my liking. Well, there must be a better way? Actually, no, not that I could find. So to scratch my own itch I have started work on one dubbed AllofTUX (great name right? Laughing ).

I shall be releasing a version of it sometime in the not so distant future, GPL'ed of course. It's a simple app but I might expand it's feature set later on.

Well the project I have been working on for nearly three years is now dead. It was becoming a right pain in the **** to manage and a chore to code for. I'm now working on LF2 if you will, It's not Logicfury underneath though it will bear similarities in it's visual operation. Chances are the project will no longer be called Logicfury, but that's undecided yet. This time the CMS wont just have a little reordering of it's structure, it will be coded entirely from scratch. Which is no small task but it seems a more welcoming one than continuing with a poorly designed project. There are many many idea's I have for the new CMS and I can guarantee it will surpass Logicfury.

What will become of my Logicfury powered blog or indeed Logicfury it's self? That's an interesting question. It does make a good blog, blogs are much smaller web apps and the structuring isn't too bad for something like a blog or small news system based site. Perhaps Logicfury could continue with a new purpose if someone is willing to take over the code? For the time being my blog will still run on the CMS that never was Cheeky
