Google Street View Your Holiday Destination

It happened an hour or so after a train journey from the airport. My girlfriend was taking me somewhere, I didn't ask where. I was left feeling too zombie like after the flight to be able to think properly. After arriving at the destination, taking some steps and walking out onto a street. I had a feeling of déjà vu and exclaimed "Hey, I recognise this place, isn't your house in that direction?". A good many months ago I had spent a few hours every now and then looking at the area my girlfriend lives in. I found it rather interesting being able to do a virtual tour of Japan in this way.

Using Google Street View like this is very useful, I knew my way around the area before even getting there. I was not lost in this strange area I had never been to before. I could actually find my way around. I knew the location of certain shops, where a park was, how to get to my girlfriends house, where the train station was and so on.

This wasn't the only time this déjà vu happened, it happened in every place I visited that I had seen on Google Street View first. I was outside a huge department store in Tokyo Japan called Yodobashi. Suddenly as if I switch when on in my mind I recognised it and could begin to navigate my way around the area we were now in.

It's a nice feeling to experience déjà vu in a land over 6000 miles away from home. I recommend that you try to use Google Street for the next place you visit, it's always helpful to know your way around somewhere you have never visited before Smileing
