Japan Plan

By Chris

It's been so cold lately, snowed on Tuesday too. The summery picture at the top of my blog is mocking me. I'm not such a fan of the cold weather.

Anyhow... at the bottom of my University Has Started post I happened to mention a passport arriving and hinted at what I wanted it for. Travelling abroad is easy enough to guess but where? Well I was quite hoping to go to Japan.

The bad news is that it was once looking quite hopeful that I would be going to Japan this December but this is no longer the case. Being a student, travelling to Japan is a very expensive affair with accommodation being the biggest issue. At one point it did seem like I would be able to stop with Risa's family but that offer change and with it my opportunity to go to Japan this Winter.

I haven't given up though. I am in the process of applying to teach English in Japan next year with ECC. This would involve teaching people at an 英会話 (eikaiwa), a word which is an abbreviation for an English conversation school. At the moment I'm revising my CV before sending it in the middle of doing university work. I have received a reply from ECC after completing their online application form asking if I would be interested in attending an interview and requesting my CV.

I feel quite lost at the moment, uncertain about which way my life might go. I'm coming to the end of my university course and so things are going to change remarkably.
