I decided to do a search for "Deusiah" on Google to see what Google has been indexing about me. By accident I typed in "Deusaih" and was greeted with "Did you mean: Deusiah". Wow! A word I made up is actually being suggested by Google. Plus if you visit Google Suggest and type in "Deusi"you'll see it's on the suggestion list too.
Next step the Oxford Dictionary! Here's a post that's two days overdue. On Monday I passed my Practical driving test
. It was the first time that I had took it and I passed with only three minor mistakes. All I require now is a Car, Insurance, Road Tax, MOT and Breakdown recovery lol. I bought this game on the 10th the day of it's release in the UK and after playing it religiously for two days I can say it's excellent and much better than GTA:VC.
Upon first playing it I found the controls very awkward having to press space for run? On every game I have played it's shift, this led to some unwanted accidents jumping when trying to get away quickly. Driving cars with WSAD was odd too, I prefer to drive with my right hand on the arrow keys. Even though I could mess about changing these in the config I thought I'd stick with it. After a while you get used to them and they are quickly forgotten. A few things I dislike about the game are the lame PS2 textures/grapics. I know this game is advertised as a "polished PC" version but you can tell Rockstar have created the game mainly for the PS2. The lack of being able to use my steering wheels pedals has annoied me since GTA:3 and they still havn't got around to fixing this. A steering wheel provides such a greater degree of control in games like this, it's always dissapointing to have to result to the keyboard. Now what I like about the game. At first I started off doing probably what many people do, stuff the missions, grab a fast bike/car and cause havoc whilst exploring the city. The first thing that grabs you here is how big the playing area is. You can drive around for hours and still be totally lost and the amazing this is that this is only a quarter of the map as the remaining areas have yet to be unlocked. The map feature is accessible by pressing ESC to call up the main menu then clicking on map. How stupid is that? Mafia superb map overlay system is missed so much here. In Mafia you can simply call up a near full screen map overlay whilst moving along by holding down one button. After speeding along on the roads you'll soon find there's countryside to speed along which is great fun. However due to the nature of the uneven ground combined with highspeed you'll eventually end up in a river or small stream. I manged to dive over this huge drop. Upon hitting the water I was stunned to find the traditional wasted message did not appear. At last the characted can swim. This is one of the most anoying things about Mafia and the previous GTA's esp when jumping from boat to boat in GTA. GTA:SA is full of surprises such as being able to train in gyms, shop at cloths stores, burgle houses, tag places, race cars, ride bicycles and much more. I can't go into detail here but I'll tell you this. If you like GTA:VC you'll LOVE GTA:SA. This is a game I belive has near universal appeal. Nearly all gamers will enjoy this game and so I reccomend it to every gamer ![]() Yesterday I recieved the copy of Ren and Stimpy the complete first and second series from Amazon. It had to come from America as for some reason it's not sold over here at all.
The DVD is region one so as suspected it would not play on my DVD player which was a shame but it was not a problem as I would just watch it on my PC. Watching it on the PC isn't as good as watching it on a set dedicated to playing DVD's though so I had a look into unlocking my DVD player. It just so happens that my model can be very easily unlocked with no chips. All I had to do was create a hex file, put a few values in it put it in a few folders, burn it, play it in the DVD player and set my DVD players region to 0 which means it plays everything. Sure enough the Ren and Stimpy DVD now worked. Ren and Stimpy has to be my favorite cartoon of all time. I hadn't seen a Ren and Stimpy episode for over 11 years! Watching some of the episodes again it soon became appartent where I get a lot of my humourus style from. It was odd to hear things and think that's the kind of daft thing I would have said. Perhaps the cartoons had an impact on me when I was growing up or perhaps I have always been this daft? Anyway who cares, Ren & Stimpy is just as good as I remember it and I can't wait to watch all 32 eps again ![]() |
