Bought Microsoft Software?

I hate when large companies overcharge for a product/service. Some of my favourite examples of this are BT (British Telecom) and their extortionate broadband prices and every mobile phone network in the UK.

One of the companies guilty of this is of course Microsoft. I know this is just stating the obvious but what I was surprised to find out is by just how much Microsoft rip Europe by.

In Thailand Microsoft Office costs ву30, that's around Б Microsoft Office sells for Б.99 in the UK. I have no problem with paying for software but I have a big problem with paying a needless Б.99!

This is one huge reason the Open Source Initiative not only exists, but thrives as well.

Yeah and it was infact OpenOffice that forced Microsoft to push the prices down in Thailand. I guess over there Linux is more widely accepted and so it became a problem for MS. In the UK 99% probably think Linux is some type of snow tiger or something Laughing

Until more people start using Linux, Microsoft will continue to rip us all off (well all of us who buy Microsoft software that is).

That "Get the Facts" smear campaign is stupid and funny, but unfortunately is effective. It was hard to convince my higher-ups that Linux is the better choice for our servers - until of course I pulled out real stats on uptime, reliability/availability, and of course PRICE.

Microsuck will do anything to push another technology off the market, except this time, they are swinging their stick at the ocean.

THERE ARE TOO MANY OF US AND WE ARE GROWING!! MUA HA HA HA!!!

What I like about Linux is, that it gets more and more interesting everyday. And btw, it's free Grining. About 60% of the people that I know (real life) have Linux now since I have told them 'bout it. Thanks Deus Cheeky

Microsoft sucks.

Well what programs are those that you use in Windows?

The only thing I boot into Windows for is games and that's only the ones I can't run under Linux.

Ohh ok.

BTW speaking of MS software I just got a copy of Win2000 (the best version of Windows aside from perhaps Win2003 server). My plan is to wipe the anoying XP and have Windows set up as a games OS. When you boot it up you will be presented with nothing more than a desktop full of games icons Rolling Eyes

Not that I play that many games but I do have a fair few installed.
